Bio:
Jenifer Dick began quilting in 1993 when on a whim she signed up for a beginning quiltmaking class. From that first stitch she was hooked. In 2001, she discovered appliqué and it changed her quilting life. She has been speaking to guilds and teaching appliqué to quiltmakers ever since. She is the author of six quilt books and her work has been published in many other books and magazines. Jenifer lives in Harrisonville, Mo., with her husband and two cats.

"Because It's Applique"

We are thrilled to announce that author and prize winning quilter Jenifer Dick will be lecturing at our Guild on October 15th, 2018.

Award winning quilt maker and author Jenifer Dick takes you on a 15+ year quilted retrospective from her beginnings in appliqué, when she thought she’d never master the skill to today as she creates fun and whimsical appliqué quilts using her invisible zigzag appliqué method.

She’ll tell you the backstories behind her quilts while explaining how she

approaches appliqué design and picking fabrics. She’ll also tell you about her applique technique including lots of hints and tips to get you started or to add to your repertoire to use with your favorite applique method.

The lecture will take place at our regular October meeting at Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville.  Fully paid members may attend free of charge.  Monthly members or guests from other guilds or the public  will be asked for a $10 entry fee.
